SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2000--The Cobalt Group (Nasdaq:CBLT) is pleased to announce it has been selected for Bloomberg's Tech 100 list.

Cobalt ranked 42nd on the list of the 100 fastest growing public technology companies compiled by Bloomberg Personal Finance magazine. Cobalt was the only automotive industry-focused technology company to make the list.

Bloomberg's Tech 100 list was compiled from a database of over 5,000 technology firms. Bloomberg ranked the top companies by fiscal-year sales growth and required each company to have at least a 25 percent sales growth in the last quarter. As of the quarter ended March 31, 2000, Cobalt reported annual sales growth of 272.87 percent and quarterly sales growth of 278.48 percent.

"We are excited to be included on this prestigious list because this is not a popularity contest; the selections were made on concrete financial numbers," said John Holt, president and CEO of The Cobalt Group. "Each of The Cobalt Group's 550-plus employees can be proud we are recognized in this category, because it proves the value of hard work and dedication we have shown in becoming the leading online automotive services provider."
