Bob Burdette is fascinated with the campy graphics, toy advertisements and romantic tattoos of the 1950s and 60s. He makes icons of mermaids, happy homemakers and wig models, at the same time celebrating and ridiculing traditional values and dreams of the middle class. His art is a parody of pop culture where everything is "new and improved": A girdle makes the perfect woman and the right cola is the answer.

Bob Burdette was born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1973.
